Reminder: 7th Hybrid Congressional Briefing on Burma

INVITATION
Ellicott City, Maryland —The Burma Research Institute (BRI) invites you to join its 7th Hybrid Congressional Briefing on Burma:
After the Sham Elections – U.S. Opportunities and Challenges
On April 10, 2026, Min Aung Hlaing, the leader of Burma’s 2021 military coup, was sworn as the country’s president, with key regime allies China and Russia extending their congratulations. Meanwhile, State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, President U Win Myint, and others remain behind bars. The military’s airstrikes on civilians and religious sites — including Christian communities — continue to escalate, deepening an already dire humanitarian crisis. The junta remains a direct and ongoing threat to U.S. national interests and security.
The panelists will assess the current situation on the ground and offer concrete recommendations to the Administration and Congress.
