BRI conducts research primarily on religious freedom or belief and humanitarian issues such as refugees and internally displaced people. It has published eight reports since the 2021 military coup. It also documents the violations of religious freedom and issues statements. These are available at the News and Event, and the Publication and Resources at the website. In addition to conducting field research, BRI also writes articles published in Christianity Today, The Irrawaddy, and the Baptist Standard. These articles and analyses cover US policy towards Burma, including appropriations and Temporary Protected Status issues, as well as the persecution of Christians in Burma.
